Cardiac coherence Cardiac coherence biofeedback provides a way to visualize the state of nervous system harmony. Using a pulse captor, software analyzes changes in your heart rate as you breathe in and out. Your heart rate normally increases gradually as you inhale and slows as you exhale. The rate of change, which should be gradual, indicates whether or not there is harmony. This technique, based on tracking changes in heart rate, provides a way to visualize the overall equilibrium of each individual's autonomic nervous system, our automatic pilot. The heart and all other organs are linked to it. The autonomic nervous system is also connected to the immune system and to the emotional brain. That is what makes this technique so interesting. It enables checking of the impact of active relaxation and meditation exercises DIRECTLY on the workings of the organs and on a person's ability to regulate the tension that sometimes accumulates in them. |
